Ventilation tubes
For ventilation ducts that perform perfectly
Ventilation and air-handling systems are becoming increasingly sophisticated. Requirements regarding cleanliness and energy efficiency play an extremely important role, particularly in medical technology, cleanrooms, semiconductor production and data centres.
Would you like to manufacture high-quality ventilation systems at competitive costs?
A 100 per cent air change?
Free from viruses and particles?
Powerful yet highly energy-efficient?
Do you manufacture metal tubes that meet these requirements:
+ Smooth seams and surfaces to ensure no particles remain in the system
+ Precise, leak-tight joints
+ High strength and stability, even with strong airflows
+ Guaranteed leak-tightness, pressure and temperature resistance
+ Accuracy of radius, wall thickness and roundness
+ Durability and corrosion resistance, even in damp environments or when exposed to corrosive gases
This is achieved with our manufacturing solution, which utilises tried-and-tested laser welding and cutting processes as well as intelligent clamping technology!
With our machines, you can efficiently produce a wide range of different tubes to a high standard:
– extremely flexible, available in various lengths and diameters up to 1,000 mm
– wall thicknesses from 0.2 mm
– no tool changes required
– high output with welding speeds of up to 10 m/min.
This means that even small batch sizes can be manufactured efficiently. The butt-welded laser seams are dimensionally stable, smooth and 100 % leak-proof.
On request, we can combine all the necessary process steps within our systems – from sheet metal forming, through laser joining and cutting, to tube end finishing and marking.
By combining the systems from Weil Technology and our subsidiary Novatec, we offer you turnkey solutions from a single source: from laser welding and cutting right through to final tube forming.

The benefits of a laser-welded ventilation damper housing at a glance
+ Maximum enclosure tightness (Class C to D): Thanks to the continuous, pore-free laser weld, the enclosure is completely airtight. There are no minute gaps, as is the case with folded joints. The stringent requirements of enclosure tightness Class C or even D in accordance with DIN EN 1751 are met effortlessly and permanently.
+ Easy machining of both tube ends, as there is no lap joint with double wall thickness.
+ Lower processing costs for laser welding compared with seam welding, which requires copper wire.
+ No additional sealant required: As the weld seam itself provides a perfect seal, there is no need at all for elastic sealants (such as silicone or mastic) along the edges of the housing. This eliminates the risk of leaks caused by ageing, where seals become brittle.
+ Greater mechanical stability and resistance to warping: The laser beam is extremely focused and the duration of the laser pulse is very short. As a result, the heat-affected zone remains minimal and the housing does not warp during welding. It is extremely torsionally rigid, which makes installation on site easier (no jamming of the damper blade caused by a warped housing).
+ No post-processing required in the seam area: With conventionally galvanised sheets, the zinc coating is often damaged during TIG welding or seam resistance welding, which creates areas susceptible to rust. The longitudinal seams often have to be subsequently recoated with a layer of zinc. The laser welding process minimises this burn-off of the zinc layer and allows the use of stainless steel (e.g. for chemical or cleanroom applications).
+ Optimal flow cross-section: As there are no internal folds, rivets or thick weld beads, the inner wall of the housing is completely smooth. This minimises pressure loss across the damper, reduces flow noise and prevents the build-up of dirt inside.
Efficient tube manufacturing for high-performance cooling in data centres
As computing power increases, so does the challenge of efficiently dissipating the ever-growing amounts of heat generated by data centres. Laser-welded air ducts enable airtight, aerodynamically optimized systems, helping to reduce energy consumption and lower data centre operating costs sustainably. Compared with conventional seamed metal ventilation ducts, laser-welded ducts offer two key advantages: superior airtightness and exceptionally smooth internal surfaces. These features help minimize air resistance and reduce the accumulation of dust and other contaminants, extending fan service life and reducing electricity consumption.
